About Me

I am a freelance writer from the UK currently living in Taiwan in a bid to escape crazy rent prices, endless commuting, bad weather and a depressing  jobs market.

I graduated in 2013 from Queen Mary University of London with a BA in English & Drama and from there I became a full-time content writer for TopUniversities.com, a website belonging to QS, one of the world's largest university rankings companies.

In my two years in this position I gained a strong knowledge of writing for the online market, to a huge international audience, upwards of one million per month. As well as writing informative, traffic-driving articles, blog posts and guides for students and graduates, I was also heavily involved with site upkeep, moderating forums, fixing bugs, tracking site data and uploading to our CMS system.

In addition to this role I also have experience in arts and culture reviewing, listicle writing, researching and have also completed a number of internships within the publishing and journalism industries (Orion Group, Robert Hale, Guestlist.net and TheUpcoming.com)

I am now looking for new challenges and hope to write for leading arts, culture and news publications on topics including film, literature, politics, modern society and all that's relevant in the world of digital media. I aspire to work for media outlets such as The Independent, The Atlantic, The New Statesman, The Guardian, Vox, Vice, Pitchfork and The New Republic.

As well as solid writing and editing experience, my technical skills include SEO, CMS, Google Analytics, basic HTML, image sourcing and editing, word processing and copywriting.
